June Emergency Meeting Recap
Thank you to everyone who participated in our emergency meeting discussing police brutality, racism, and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Long Beach Young Democrats stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the peaceful protests against police brutality.
During the more than two hour meeting, we were able to discuss and approve a strong new oath of office committed to advancing diversity and equity, bylaw amendments that require candidates seeking endorsement to support communities of color and affirm that Black Lives Matter, and a resolution in support of a Framework for Reconciliation in Long Beach and to call for action to address police violence.
The discussion will continue on June 30th and we would love to gather more diverse viewpoints to further our discussions. Please stay connected to our newsletter and social media channels to find the Zoom link for our next meeting.
You can find the amended documents that were discussed during the meeting HERE.
